Check out the latest on our BJDC competitions…time to let your imaginations flow! We’ve got 3 competitions this year…a BJD Costume Contest, a BJD Diorama Contest, and a BJD Photography Contest!

The theme for the competition is “From Here to There to Everywhere: An International Affair” and is open to your interpretation. We want you to let your imagination take you to the many wonders of the world.... whatever and whereever your imagination chooses! The competition is being split into three categories because we want everyone to participate!

•Category 1- Outfit completely designed and made by you

•Category 2- Outfit made by you using someone else’s pattern OR designed by you but made by someone else

•Category 3- Outfit both designed and made by someone else but put together by you

You must be an attendee to participate in this contest. One BJD Costume entry per attendee.

If you use someone else’s designs/patterns/work, please credit the designer/maker.  All dolls must be properly supported.  You may have no more than 2 dolls in an entry (couples, etc.) Please limit your presentation to a 24” square.  Use of props is allowed to enhance costumes. Entries must be dropped off to the competition room on Game Night, June 21st between 6:00-6:30 for judging that evening. 

Winners will be announced at the Final Banquet!

Check out the BJDC 2024 Photo Contest!

The contest is open to photographers around the globe-- both attendees and non-attendees are welcome to submit their photos!

The theme of the 2024 convention is “From Here to There to Everywhere: An International Affair” and is open to your interpretation. We want you to let your imagination take you to the many wonders of the world.... whatever and whereever your imagination chooses!

Rules:

• Subject of the photo must be a BJD. More than one BJD can be used in each photo. No recasts.

• No photos of a sexual, violent, obscene or inappropriate nature are permitted.

• Submissions should be high resolution with at least 300 dpi and submitted in a .jpeg or .tiff format. Please do not include any watermarks or signatures on your photo.

• Entrants can enter once, so choose your best photo for submission.

• Submissions must be the work of the photographer who submits the photo. and cannot have been previously published or entered in another contest.

• A winner will be chosen for first, second and third place.

• Winners receive publication of their photo in the BJDC 2024 Souvenir Book and recognition online via social media. Winners will also receive their own copy of the BJDC 2024 Souvenir Book.

• By submitting a photo, entrants agree to have their photo published online on our website, social media, and our Souvenir Book should the photograph be chosen as a winner.

• Contest is open from March 31 to May 31, 2024 All entries must be received electronically by May 31st at midnight CST. Winners will be announced at the BJDC 2024 Convention and via social media, not before.

To enter, send your photo(s) via email to bjdcphotocontest@gmail.com. For each submission, provide the following information:

• Your Name, Address and Contact email

• Sculpt (s): The sculpt of your doll or dolls in the photo

• Description: A brief description of your photograph. Please keep your description to under 200 words.

Check out the 2024 BJDC Diorama Contest!

The theme for the competition is “From Here to There to Everywhere: An International Affair” and is open to your interpretation. We want you to let your imagination take you to the many wonders of the world.... whatever and where ever your imagination chooses! Again, anything goes!

Diorama completely designed and made by you (structure, furniture, accessories) using any elements you like.

You must be an attendee to participate in this contest. One BJD Diorama entry per attendee.

If you use someone else’s designs/work, please credit the designer/maker.  If you have a doll(s) in the diorama, they must be properly supported.   Please limit your presentation to a 24” X 36” area. 

Entries must be dropped off to the competition area on Game Night, June 21st between 6:00-6:30 for judging that evening.  Winners will be announced at the Final Banquet!
